A Large-Scale Chemical Project in the UAE

TA’ZIZ Methanol is the UAE’s first large-scale methanol production plant, developed by the TA’ZIZ joint venture (ADNOC and ADQ) in partnership with Proman and located in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi.

With a designed production capacity of 1.8 million tonnes of methanol per year, the project has an estimated EPC investment value of approximately US$1.7 billion, with Samsung E&A serving as the EPC contractor. The plant uses natural gas as its feedstock and is designed to operate using clean electricity from the power grid, thereby enhancing energy efficiency and reducing its environmental impact.

This is one of the key projects in Phase 1 of the TA’ZIZ Chemicals Industrial Complex, playing an important role in Abu Dhabi’s strategy to develop its chemicals industry and strengthen its industrial position.

At the project, LILAMA 10 is responsible for the construction and installation of structural components, electrical systems and piping on industrial modules.

The execution of these works requires close coordination among multiple disciplines, from structural works and electrical system installation to piping fabrication and assembly, ensuring overall integration, quality and compliance with the project’s technical requirements.

This achievement not only reflects the volume of work completed but also demonstrates LILAMA 10’s ability to execute multiple technical disciplines in an integrated manner on large-scale, complex industrial modules, while meeting the requirements of international industrial projects.

Building on Its Track Record in International Green Hydrogen Projects

LILAMA 10’s participation in the TA’ZIZ Methanol Project further builds on the Company’s track record in the fabrication, assembly and construction of industrial modules for international energy and chemical projects.

Previously, LILAMA 10 participated in the fabrication and installation of green hydrogen electrolysis modules for the West Coast project in California, USA, featuring 20 MW modules, as well as the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in Saudi Arabia – one of the world’s largest green hydrogen projects.

The experience gained from these projects provides a solid foundation for LILAMA 10 to further leverage its capabilities in construction management, multidisciplinary coordination, quality control and compliance with international technical standards in industrial modularization.

Strengthening Construction Capabilities and International Integration

The completion of more than 6,000 tonnes of modules in Phase 1 of the TA’ZIZ Methanol Project marks a notable milestone in the development of LILAMA 10’s capabilities.

Drawing on its experience in domestic and international energy and heavy industrial projects, together with a team of experienced engineers, technical personnel and skilled workers, LILAMA 10 continues to demonstrate its capacity to undertake industrial-scale fabrication, structural steel construction, electrical system installation, piping installation and module assembly.
